My Review - Fatal Judgment

Irene Hannon has once again penned an incredible story. FATAL JUDGMENT is a great mix of suspense, intrigue, and romance.

When it is concluded that the death of federal judge Liz Michaels’ sister was an unfortunate act of mistaken identity, the FBI, along with the U.S. Marshal’s office combine forces to find out who it is who might be after the federal judge.

U.S. Marshal Jake Taylor has been assigned to protect federal judge Liz Michaels, a detail he wishes had been assigned to someone else. Liz Michaels just happens to be the widow of his former college buddy, a man that confided in Jake that his wife was a workaholic, coldhearted, and put her job above all else, that was five years ago right before his apparent suicide. But, the more time Jake spends with Liz, his preconceived opinions change. She is nothing but warm, caring, considerate, and dealing with guilt issues because she wasn’t able to reach her alcoholic/depressed husband.

Completely out of character, Jake allows the line between personal and professionalism to blur. His feelings for Liz grow and she in turn begins to rely on him for more than just protection. Her life and his heart are on the line and he has no intentions of letting either one of them get hurt.

FATAL JUDGMENT was a fast-paced read that would not allow me to put it down. Irene Hannon is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. She blends action with romance flawlessly. A great read and a wonderful start to the Guardians of Justice series.
