CHRISTMAS AT HARRINGTON’S is a delightful read just in time for the holidays.
Lena Markham is ready to make a new start in life, but is society willing to accept her back? After being set-up, wrongly accused, and imprisoned, Lena heads to the small town of New Haven with the address of a boardinghouse and the promise of a job. But she never could have imagined that the job she is offered is to play Mrs. Santa for Harrington’s Department Store. Not exactly what she had in mind, but with no other options, she takes the position and is able to step into the character that not only transforms her thinking, but transform all those she comes in contact with.
I really enjoyed CHRISTMAS AT HARRINGTON’S. It was a subtle reminder of the affect we have on the people that come in and out of our lives, even people who aren’t accepting of who we are. The secondary characters were great additions. Lena’s interactions with Sally, Jemima, Moira, and Cassidy, showed how giving to others can actually be a gift we give ourselves. CHRISTMAS AT HARRINGTON’S was a wonderful holiday story. My only negative (being a true romantic), I would’ve loved to witness the developing relationship between Lena and Sam. Other than that, a true delight.
