I am anxiously awaiting the release of Full Disclosure. Though the book has been available to readers through my website, I am sitting in anticipation to see how it will be received in the national market.Being as this is my first book, I am just beginning to realize how overwhelming and time consuming it can be to promote a book. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to have gotten this opportunity, but at the same time it has been challenging to find enough hours in the day to maintain a full-time job, a home, a family, steal moments of time to continue writing, and promote all in the same 24 hour period.
As I skip and stumble through the internet, I am finding out there are websites, blog sites, groups, organizations, associations, etc. that advertise or connect fiction writers together. I find myself going from one link to another, reading articles and posts, comments and reviews, absorbing the help and learning from the articles. I want to sign-up for every one of them, only to find out that if I continue to surf, I will fall farther behind in my responsibilities.
Does anyone else fall into this trap?

Congratulations on your first novel! That's no easy journey in itself. Managing time with writing is very difficult. You're definitely not alone! It helps to look at your life as being in a season. This season is particularly busier than the last. It's important though. If you wish to see success as a writer, you need readers. Once this season is over, the readers remain. Keep promoting!
Jessica, thank you so much for the encouragement. It was with much excitement I entered the word of writing. I don't want to loose that excitement because of all the anxiety and responsibilities.. Thanks for the reminder. I will pray for a fruitful "season".
I know this post is a bit...older, but I just wanted to say, I can definitely spend hours on the internet clicking through different links, and then wonder where the time went?
